Dick Finn - 1975

Dick Finn graduated from The Ohio State University in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. He received his Masters and Doctoral degree from the University of Toledo. He graduated from Lima St. Rose H.S. while participating in football, basketball and baseball. In 1951, they were state champions. In college at OSU, he played baseball for the Buckeyes from 1952-55. He was the captain in 1955 as they won the Big Ten title and played in the NCAA tourney. He began his coaching at Toledo Central Catholic in 1955. He coached football from 1955-59, basketball 1955-57 and baseball from 1956-59. He was also Athletic Director from 1957-59. He then went onto Toledo Woodward to coach football (1959-1964), basketball (1959-1965). He went onto the University of Toledo to coach baseball from 1965-1969 and then to OSU as assistant baseball coach (1969-75), head baseball coach at OSU 1975 - 1987. He was also an assistant athletic director at OSU from 1975-1994. Coach Finn is in the OHSBCA Hall of Fame inducted in 1975, Lima Central Catholic HOF in 1990, Ohio Central District HOF in 2000 and the Toledo C.C. HOF in 2006. He married Mildred (Bea) Henne in August of 1956 and their children are Rich, Ann, Molly, Dan, Tom, Marty and Mary. He was Honorably Discharged (SGT) in Sept. of 1962.
