Scott is in his 14th season as the head baseball coach at Bishop Watterson High School were he is employed as the Co-Director of Athletics. Before Watterson, he was the head baseball coach and physical education teacher at Ontario (Mansfield) High School for six years.
His teams have won 14 league championships, 16 sectional titles, nine District Championships and have played in 3 State Final Fours, winning the Division II State Championship at Bishop Watterson in 1997. Scott has lead the Watterson Eagles to 4 Division II State Poll Championships and was named Division II Coach of the year in 1995, 1997 and 2003.
Scott was born and raised in Fremont, Ohio where he played football and baseball at Fremont Ross High School. As a high school baseball player, he was fortunate to play and learn the game from two excellent coaches, Ed Platzer (Bowling Green St. University/Defiance College) and was a captain and played two years for Tim Pettorini (College of Wooster).
At this time, Scott represents 5 states as a regional representative and Executive Board member for the National High School Baseball Coaches Association (BCA) and is currently the Secretary of the OHSBCA. Scott also is a Past President of the OHSBCA and the Central District Baseball Coaches Association.
Scott's overall record is 366-131 and was also inducted into the Central District Hall of Fame this past November.
Scott and his wife Laura have been married for 18 years and have four wonderful children, Emily, Matthew, Audrey and Katie. He would like to thank his parents Tom (his first coaching model) and Lou Ann (patience through the wild years) for their love, support and understanding of how God plays an important role in our lives. He would also like to thank his in-laws Glenn and Mona Rees who have showed him loyalty as a son inlaw and as a young man how to work hard and be responsible.
