Harold Potter was the first baseball coach at Clay High School. He was the head coach for the Eagle's from 1928-1974. During his 46 year career, Harold Potter compiled an astonishing 472-277 record. During that time, he also drove the team bus, coached the football team during the war years, coached basketball, was the athletic director, and was the dean of students. In memory of Potter, Clay renamed their gymnasium Harold Potter Field House on August 31, 2001.
